The process for setting up an account on eBay is very simple. The process should only take you about 15 minutes to complete from start to finish. You will be walked through each step of the process so all of the guess work is taken out of the equation. To get started you will need to go to www.ebay.com. At the very top of the screen you will be asked to either sign in or to register. You will want to click on register this one time. In the next section you will be asked to pick a user name and password. The system is set up to help you get a very secure choice in each of these fields. You will need to have a combination of both letters and numbers in each one.

In order to help verify who you are should you need anything on your account reset, you will be asked to choose a secret question from a drop down menu. Try to choose something that most people wouldn’t automatically know about you. Next you will have to provide your date of birth.

Keep in mind that you have to be at least 18 years of age in order to have an eBay account. You will have to verify that information in the next section that asks again if you are at least 18 years of age. You also have to confirm that you have read and agree to the user agreement and privacy policy.

At the bottom of the page there is a blue button that says register. Click on it to complete your registration process. Should you have any errors on the page you will automatically get a message from eBay about it. This way you can correct it and then submit the page again.

A link will be sent to the email address you provided. You will need to click on it to confirm you are the person who set up this account. Once you do so you will be able to search for items on eBay. You will have the ability to both buy and sale items that are legally offered on the eBay auction site.
